Privacy policy
Last updated 6 September 2026.
SeaStash does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. There are no accounts to create, nothing to sign in to, and no server for the app to talk to. Everything a child saves — their name, their money, their wishes, their reef — is stored on their own device and stays there.
The app keeps a child's ocean in the device's own storage: their chosen name, an avatar, their age setting, a birthday if one was given, the amounts they have recorded, the wishes they are saving for, their history of money in and out, and the state of their reef. A birthday is optional, and is stored as a day and month only — the app never asks what year a child was born. A grown-up's PIN is stored as a one-way hash, never as the digits themselves.
None of this is readable by us or by anyone else. It is not backed up to any service we run, and deleting the app deletes it.
A grown-up can save a backup file from the settings area. That file is written wherever they choose to put it — Files, iCloud Drive, an email to themselves — and is entirely under their control. It is never uploaded anywhere by the app.
SeaStash is made for children aged roughly 5 to 10 and is designed so that there is nothing to disclose. It has no advertising, no in-app purchases, no social features, no messaging, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and no links that lead a child out of the app. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to request, correct or delete from us.
If this ever changes — and the intention is that it does not — the updated policy will appear on this page with a new date, and any change that affects what is collected will be explained in the app before it takes effect.
